Printed Version of October Newsletter

October is the Month of the Holy Rosary.

In the words of Pope John Paul II: The Rosary is my favorite prayer, a marvelous prayer in its simplicity and its depth.  Against the background of the words “Hail Mary”, the principle events of the life of Jesus Christ pass before the eyes of the soul.  They take shape in the complete series of the Joyful, Sorrowful, and Glorious mysteries and they put us in living communion with Jesus, through, we might say, the heart of His mother.  At the same time our hearts may embrace the decades of the Rosary;  all the events that make up the lives of individuals, families, nations, the Church and all mankind, our personal concerns and those of our neighbor, especially those who are closest to us, who are dearest to us.  Thus the simple prayer of the Rosary marks the rhythm of human life.

 PRAY YOUR ROSARY EVERY DAY!

Jesus says to a chosen soul:  “If you knew the power of the rosary you hold in your hands and that you pray with your hearts, you would never put it down.  It would always be with you and the prayers would always be on your lips.  As it is, mankind wastes time with technology to develop modern weapons and other weaponry that can destroy human life.  But your enemy is not human – It is Satan himself and the rosary is the weapon you must use.

Think of the joy in all of heaven when a breath is drawn and the tongue given over to prayer – the prayer of the Holy Rosary.  All of Heaven sighs with joy when free will surrenders to the Divine in this way… When the “Hail Mary” is being prayed from the heart, time stands suspended between Heaven and Earth.  Angels carry the light of grace back and forth between Heaven and Earth, creating a bridge of light between the soul and  his creator.  Such a soul is never alone but has in his company all the heavenly court.”

POPE PROCLAIMS THE YEAR OF THE EUCHARIST

The Holy Father has proclaimed this to be “The Year of the Eucharist” which began on October 17, 2004 and will continue through October, 2005.  We are all encouraged to spend time in front of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament with frequent Eucharistic visits, whenever possible and holy hours of Eucharistic Adoration.

It is there before the Eucharist that  the answers to all of life’s problems will be made known.  It is there before the Eucharist that we will find strength, comfort, and pure joy.

            TRUST IN GOD

Do not let your hearts be troubled.  Trust in God still, and trust in Me.  There are many rooms in my Father’s house; if there were not, I should have told you.  I am going now to prepare a place for you, and after I have gone and prepared you a place, I shall return to take you with me; so that where I am you may also be. “        John 14: 1-4

Jesus says:  Today you wanted to live with my loving kindness.  Keep it by you all day long.  Adore it.  Love it.  Let it be your very gentle companion, so that those around you feel the effects of it.  Express it by smiles full of goodness.   Try to judge no one today.  Say all the good you can about others and do not mention their faults.  My child, how I long for you to be holy and above what you are now.  How my heart yearns for you to become my sister (or brother) through gentleness and humility.

Do you know all My loving kindnesses?  Try to see them.  And My sufferings?  And My love?  Adore it.  Hail it. Believe that everything in your life is arranged expressly for you.  Believe and you will honor Me.  Be saturated with Me in My life on earth where you can follow Me.  Your earthly life will not go on much longer.  Make haste to join Me.  Be to others what I was.  Be your Christ for others.  Give yourself because I gave Myself.  I am your reason for living.  Let this be enough.  Think often about Me my little one; think often.  With so little you give Me so much joy”.  Taken from He and I by Gabrielle Bossis

NOVEMBER 2 IS ELECTION DAY * REMEMBER TO VOTE

The war in Iraq is on everyone’s mind as the election draws near.  None of us wants to see our fellow Americans losing their lives.  Hopefully, we are all on our knees praying to God for an end to the horrors going on in Iraq and the safe return of all our troops.

There is another war going on right here in our own country, although a silent one.  This too should be the focus of the election, but sadly, most people would rather just block it all out as if it is not even happening.

4,000 children who lose their lives by abortion every day in this country.  Just as the Iraq war devastates the lives of those who lose loved ones over there, the lives of aborted women are devastated.  They suffer from alienation, depression, and grief as well as adverse physical effects.  Mostly they suffer silently and alone because the proponents of abortion want us to think it’s no big deal.

Voting records tell a lot about the candidates. If human life is worth protecting at all, then all of human life is worth protecting.

We must look seriously at this issue.  Do we really care about what is going on?  Or do fall into the false notion of “Well, I wouldn’t do it but who am I to tell someone else what to do?”  When it comes to someone else’s life being torn apart, we not only have a right to say something, we have a duty to do something.

DENVER ARCHBISHOP

NOT AFRAID TO SPEAK

Archbishop Chaput of Denver has warned about the “empty slogans” of Catholics who think they must not “impose their beliefs on society” and who go around saying “separation of Church and State”.  Bishop Chaput condemns the silence of Catholics who know that abortion is the taking of a human life by saying:  “For anyone who sees this fact clearly, neutrality, silence or private disapproval are not options.  They are evils almost as grave as abortion itself.  If religious believers do not advance their convictions about public morality in public debate, they are demonstrating not tolerance but cowardice”.  Archbishop Chaput  concludes:   “Words are cheap. Actions matter.”

You can read the complete text of Archbishop Chaput’s article on LifeSiteNews.com.  The above was taken from Spirit Daily.  SpiritDaily.com is a highly recommended website to visit.
